Post Close-QC Specialist

Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Post-Close Quality Control (QC) Specialist is responsible for conducting comprehensive post-close reviews to ensure loan documentation accuracy, proper booking, and regulatory and policy compliance. This role plays a critical part in confirming that collateral, filings, and insurance coverage are properly perfected, released, or tracked following loan closing.

 
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Perform post-close QC reviews of closed loans to ensure accuracy and file completeness after 1st and 2nd reviews by the LA and LO.
  • Review loan booking for accuracy and consistency with approved terms. 
  • Conduct general ledger (GL) reviews to confirm proper fee placement and movement
  • Review and clear ticklers to ensure required post-close items are documented and satisfied
  • Verify final deeds of trust, assignments of rents, UCC filings, and related documents have been properly signed, notarized, and perfected.
  • Confirm releases have been obtained from prior institutions when applicable
  • Ensure required insurance policies have been obtained and properly documented according to policy.
  • Confirm lien perfection or is actively tracked until completion
  • Identify and escalate deficiencies, discrepancies, or risks for resolution
  • Complete additional QC-related reviews and assignments as needed.
  • Tickler review for proper documentation dates and next due dates.
  • Track deficiencies for reporting and training needs.
  • Assist with various other tasks as assigned.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Prior experience in loan administration, operations, loan documentation, QC, or post-close review preferred
  • Strong understanding of loan documentation, collateral perfection, and banking processes
  • High attention to detail and ability to identify risk and discrepancies
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines in a regulated environment
  • Intermediate to Advance skills with Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of bank operations, policies and procedures.
  • Skill in communicating effectively with management and co-workers.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Ability to work as a team player.
  • Ability to adjust with change.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience in banking.

Work Environment

This role collaborates closely with loan admins, lenders, and compliance teams to ensure closed loans meet internal standards and regulatory requirements.

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negotiable amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry or otherwise move objects.  Job involves sitting most of the time and walking and standing some of the time.
