Exception Control Services Supervisor

Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Provides leadership, mentoring and training to Exception Control Service staff.  Ensure that the quality and timeliness of branches request are met.  Performs duties of the Department as needed. Responsible for workflow, and completion of duties of the department. 
 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Provides customer service and support for external and internal customers regarding inquires and problem resolution.
  • Supervises, trains, creates schedule, and assists all areas of Exception Control Services Department.  Oversees that work is completed correctly and on time. Assists with annual reviews, hiring and terminations.
  • Performs duties of Exception Control Services Specialist I, II, and III.
  • Works with Quality Control Officer and Compliance Officer on audit and compliance issues.
  • Works with merger consolidations, D-conversions, and special projects.
  • Assists manager on projects.
  • Various other duties as needed.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Regularly exercising independent judgement and discretion over matters of significance. 
  • Communicate effectively in-person and otherwise with all coworkers and customers, both during regular business hours and before and after regular business hours, if necessary. 
  • Effective communication and collaboration are essential for this role. While remote work may be available periodically, there are times when being in the office is necessary to maintain our collaborative efforts. Therefore, this position cannot be primarily performed remotely.

 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of bank operations, products, policies, procedures and compliance.
  • Knowledge of research, customer service, proof and statement rendering.
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.
  • Skill in communicating with co-workers, customer, management in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Skill in operating computer systems.
  • Ability to develop new techniques or procedures for performing various tasks.
  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure meeting critical deadlines and have multitask abilities.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school graduate or equivalent 
  • Accounting and bank experience is preferred.  
  • Applicant must have prior balancing/reconcilement experience and be familiar with internal general ledger systems.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DIMENSIONS:
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negotiable amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Job involves sitting most of the time and walking and standing some of the time.
