Our Roots and Banking History

Pinnacle Bank is known in the communities we serve for our strength, stability, service, and values. It's been that way since our beginning in Palmer, Nebraska.

1938

During the Great Depression, Palmer's only bank closed. So, brothers George and Tom Dinsdale, along with some friends, decided to do something to help their community.

Despite being farmers by trade, they opened what would become Pinnacle Bank in 1938. Over the next 80 years, the bank grew under the leadership of the Dinsdale family to serve communities across eight states.

1959

Roy and Jack, George's sons, first started expanding their family-owned bank in 1959 when they purchased the bank in Neligh, Nebraska.

Throughout the 60s and 70s, Roy and Jack acquired more banks in rural communities across Nebraska. In 1976, Pinnacle Bank entered the Kansas market.

1990

Steady growth continued throughout the 80s and 90s.

At that time, we also entered our first predominantly urban markets with our Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska locations. In 1999, we bought our first location in Missouri.

2010

In the 2000s and 2010s, we continued to see steady growth across Nebraska and Missouri. We also reinvested in our communities with large scale remodels and new branch openings.

Today

Today, Pinnacle Bank is still proudly owned and managed by the Dinsdale family. We serve customers across our three-state region, with two locations in Kansas, seven in Missouri and sixty-four in Nebraska. Pinnacle Bank has more branch locations in Nebraska than any other bank in the state.

As we grow, one community at a time, we recognize that each has a unique culture and set of needs for us to adapt to. That’s why our decisions are made locally. Banking decisions, as well as how we support our communities beyond our branch walls, are decided by people who are a part of and have a vested interest in the community.

We’re proud to be part of Pinnacle Bancorp, serving 167 diverse locations in eight states systemwide. While our bank may have grown out of our hometown – our core values have remained a mainstay at every location. We face the future with confidence knowing we have a firm foundation.
